METASTATIC CANCER STORIES

I was originally diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer in 2011. I made it six years when I noticed pain in what I thought was my kidney (I do have a kidney disorder). My family doctor found nothing, and he sent me to my urologist.

I was originally diagnosed in March of last year with stage 3, while 7.5 months pregnant! I received 16 rounds of chemo, four of them while pregnant.

I would like to be able to share my story, and hopefully encourage others to be more proactive about their health, and not so scared about this.

I was first diagnosed in 2013 after a routine mammogram showed irregular shaped microcalcifications in my right breast. A stereo-tactical biopsy showed DCIS. I underwent a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction at the same time.

I'm a runner, tennis player, mom, corporate spy, and woman living with MBC. I have been living with MBC since November 2015 after a Stage I diagnosis in 2013.

I have just been diagnosed with Mets to my spine.

I really didn't want to know what metastatic meant, so I didn't really look it up. I was just trying to do everything in steps.

I say 'Yes' to new experiences and opportunities because I don't know how much longer I will be able to do them!
