"I am living with #metsbc, but more importantly, I am a Mom fighting for more time with my son & loving husband."

My name is Connie Baker. I am 39 yrs. old and living with Stage IV breast cancer, also known as metastatic breast cancer. I was originally diagnosed with early stage (stage III) breast cancer in Jan 2011, at the age of 33. I completed the “gold standard” of care for treating breast cancer and was considered cancer free, or so I thought.

I moved past this point in my life and did everything I could to put cancer behind me. I welcomed my son, Gabriel, in to the world. Gabriel was born through a gestational carrier. Due to my cancer treatments, I was unable to carry children. However, my husband and I had embryos preserved prior to me undergoing chemo. My sister was my surrogate mother and because of her amazing act of selflessness, together, we welcomed Gabriel into the world. My sister was 47 yrs young when she delivered & gifted us our healthy baby boy, on August 7, 2014.

However, in August of 2015, my world was turned upside down as I was re-diagnosed with breast cancer that had spread to my lymph nodes and lung. I was given a terminal diagnosis of stage IV metastatic breast cancer. I am currently living with breast cancer, but more importantly, I am a Mom fighting for more time with my son & loving husband.

Treatment never ends for me, #itsaboutime we find a cure!
